Session I

 

IA: “Cardboard Construction”

See cool innovative ways to use cardboard boxes to enhance your

learning environment on a budget. Take home a cardboard creation that you can use with your children.

IB: “Learning Environments from Around the World”

Take a glimpse into early learning environments

from around the world. See how the culture is reflected; relationships, independence, and imaginative

play supported.

IC: “ Creative Dance & Yoga”

Everybody DANCE, NOW! Let’s find ways to enhance the curriculum through creative movement activities! Easy yoga for children - simple yoga moves & understanding. Bring your yoga mat or beach towel!

Session II

 

IIA: “The Magic of Story Stretching: Unfolding Picture Books”

A creative hands-on workshop that will help you prepare engaging story times throughout the school year. Pam, with the help of participants, will model a culturally responsive story time. Practice integrating literacy with the arts. All materials will be provided. Diversity of experience welcome!

IIB: “It’s Common Sense - Understanding Children with Sensory Integration Concerns”

Children with sensory integration (SI) concerns have difficulty with processing every day sensations. They may avoid or seek out different sensations. This behavior may be viewed as disruptive and may interfere with the child's development and learning. The presenter will explain SI in a common sense way to help one understand and recognize a child with SI concerns. Practical, hands-on examples for helping the child at home, school and other settings will be shared.
